Instructor Vehicle
-
This is a rather subjective topic. Automatic vehicles are said to be "easier" to drive as you don't need to change gears or use a clutch to do so. With an automatic vehicle, you'll be able to focus more on the street and your reactions, without having to worry about stalling your vehicle at that next intersection.
However, if you pass your restricted licence test in an automatic vehicle, you're only legally allowed to drive automatic vehicles - until you have passed your full licence test. If you pass your restricted licence test in a manual vehicle, you're sweet to drive both from then on.
-
My vehicle is an automatic 2018 Toyota Aqua Hybrid. It is fitted with dual controls which means that I have a second set of brakes installed and can intervene if need be. The steering and accelerating is completely up to you. :)
-
Yes. I've got a set of cameras installed, which are there for your and also my own safety. The footage will help us and my insurance in the event of something going wrong, e.g. a crash. The footage will stay on a hard drive for a certain amount of time and if not needed, will be deleted. Before the start of our driving lesson, I will point the cameras out to you.
Driving Lesson
-
You must be 16 or older to take the learner licence theory test. Once you have passed the theory test you will have your learner licence and can commence driving lessons on the road with an approved driving instructor or your supervisor.
-
That will depend on my availability. I will do my best to let you know asap. I do recommend booking a week or two in advance.
-
Around $82 per lesson. I also offer deals on bundles of 3's and 6's.
I coach within Te Whanganui-a-Tara/ Wellington. And driving lessons can be held in my car or your car. It'd be lovely when we're using your car, if I could park my car nearby in a safe manner.
In exceptional cases, I'm also available for driving lessons further away, but I only offer this after email contact and with a surcharge.
-
I only really work within Wellington. Sorry!

My working hours differ in summer and winter, depending on daylight. Usually, I am not working on Thursdays and Weekends. If my available times are not suitable for you, please feel free to reach out to me. I'm happy to discuss my availability to suit yours.
-
I don't carry an Eftpos machine nor cash with me. Available payment options are via manual bank transfer or online through my website (stripe). Please keep in mind that the payment of the total amount (e.g. Bundle of 3's can't be split into weekly payments) has to be made prior to the start of our lesson. The payment has to arrive on my bank account at least 10 working days before our lesson. All payments have to be in NZD.
If you would like to pay with a gift voucher, you can select the option "I've already paid for my Bundle" on my lessons page in order to book your lesson/s.
-
Yes. You can e.g. buy a bundle deal (Bundle of 3 or 6) to save some money or even make use of my gift vouchers.
-
You should receive an answer on the same day.
-
I will try my best fitting you into my schedule. However, I can't guarantee that there will be space for you. To avoid time pressure, please book at least a few weeks prior to your driving test to ensure that we can find time for a driving lesson to get you ready and put emphasis on critical and immediate failure errors.
-
Yes, you can have the driving lesson in your own vehicle. However it must have a valid WOF and current rego as well as be able to currently meet road safety standards. You will also need to have full comprehensive motor vehicle insurance on your vehicle and if there is any damage to your vehicle or to any third party or third parties property/vehicle (regardless of who the driver was) then you are responsible for this.
You will need to bring evidence of your vehicle insurance along to your lesson if you want to use your own vehicle.

Yes. My vehicle is fitted with interior and exterior security cameras. This is for your own safety, my safety and everyone else's safety. Plus it will help will legal issues and insurance claims.

This will depend on what we've agreed to. I can pick you up from home, from work, from school or from any other agreed location. In the booking option it will say client location. Please mention your preferred location when you book.
Changes to lesson locations (pick up and drop off) need to be at least 3 working days in advance, so I can adjust my schedule accordingly.
-
Yes. I'm happy to pick you up and drop you off at different locations. As long as these locations are within reasonable distance and the traffic timing allows us to. Please pre-arrange this with me.

Yes. I'm offering a refresher lesson. This is a great option to check up on your skills, no matter if they're already existing or freshly learned. It's good to keep up to date with the Road Code/road rules.
-
Yes, as long as the other person is not causing any distraction during our lesson, that's completely fine. Please just let me know prior.
-
Yes. I am able to instruct in English and German. If that doesn't help, you're welcome to bring them along.
-
In the unfortunate event that you can't make it, for whatever reason, please give me at least 36 hours notice. If your notice is early enough, I'm happy to reschedule a more suitable time and date for you. If you fail to do so, you'll forfeit said driving lesson and you'll have to pay again for a new lesson.
Please understand that I'm a one-woman-business and I need this early notice as a safety net in order to keep my business going. I am not issuing refunds for any missed or cancelled (with less than 36 hours notice) lessons.
If I need to reschedule our lesson, for whatever reason, I will contact you as soon as possible and offer you new dates and times. You won't loose this lesson and you don't have to repay anything.
-
My driving lessons, just like gift vouchers, are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. Without notice from you, after 6 months, these will forfeit.
Please send me an email if you can't make it within the time frame and I'm happy to arrange for a longer time frame, or refund if that works better for you.
Driving Test
-
Good question! This depends on a number of things:
- the amount of your previous driving experience,
If you have had access to a vehicle to practise outside of our lessons,
How quick you learn new information and what kind of learner you are,
How much time you can dedicate to learning driving skills.
After every driving lesson, I will give you an overview of your skills and your development for you to keep track of where you're at. We will set a learning plan that will fit your individual needs. However, if you pass your restricted licence test in an automatic vehicle, you're only legally allowed to drive automatic vehicles - until you have passed your full licence test. If you pass your restricted licence test in a manual vehicle, you're sweet to drive both from then on.
-
Yes. I'm offering a simulation of a driving test. This is a great option to see if you're ready for the test situation.
-
No. For the official driving test, the Testing Officer will expect you to demonstrate your driving skills on a new route that is unknown to you - for the most accurate test situation.
-

-
If you have taken lessons with me prior and my vehicle is available for that date and time, I'm happy to have a chat about this. Please contact me early enough. There is a charge for this service and we generally allow for up to three hours which can include a pre-test warmup drive.
Gift Vouchers
-
What a nice idea! Helping someone to improve their driving skills is a tremendous act of kindness. To purchase a gift voucher for someone, go to the lessons page and find the "gift voucher" option. Include all the details in the form so we know where the voucher will go. You can also include a personalized message if you'd like.

Yes. You can buy as many gift vouchers as you'd like. Feel free to send me an email if you're unsure how to do this or if you've got a special request.
-
My gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
These vouchers are transferable as well. Please just inform me about the name of the recipient.
